Ali Mims wins Miss Alabama's Teen 2024: 'This has been a dream of mine since I was probably 2-years-old' (2024)

Chelsea High School student Ali Mims was crowned the new Miss Alabama's Teen at Thompson High School Sunday.After a weekend filled with interviews, on-stage questions, talent run-throughs, fitness routines and evening gown walks, Mims took home the title and thousands of dollars worth of scholarship money."This has been a dream of mine since I was probably two years old, and so to finally get it and receive it at such an awesome time, I mean, it really was God's timing," Mims said. "I'm truly so, so grateful and it hasn't fully set in yet. She also spends time volunteering through her community service initiative, Joyful Noise."I provide music education to the special needs community," Mims said. "And what a lot of people don't know is that 76% of schools in our very own state do not offer music education to the special needs students. Mims said she was honored to take home the talent preliminary, following in her mother's footsteps."My mom won the talent preliminary when she competed in Miss Alabama, and so that was kind of a very sentimental moment for me and for her," Mims said.Mims will now take her talent to the Miss America's Teen competition, where she'll represent Alabama on the national stage.

Mims is a junior at Chelsea where she's a member of the Beta Club and cheer team.
