Mr. Ackerman was born in Beaufort, SC, July 16, 1966, a son of the late Kenneth L. Ackerman, Jr. and Johnnie Redman Ackerman. He was employed by United Parcel Service and was a member of Teamsters Local Union 509 for over 20 years.

He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Wild Turkey Federation, was the president of Homeowners Association, Poplar Creek, Santee and Benton Farms Hunt Club in Hendersonville, SC. He is survived by his wife; a stepson, Hunter Lewis; two daughters, Ashleigh Ackerman and Morgan Ackerman, all of Beaufort; a brother, Kenneth L. DEATHS John Frank Biggers Jr. MATTHEWS, N.C.- John Frank Big- gers 84, of Matthews, passed away September 29, 2006. He was born in Union County to John Frank and Myrtle Moore Biggers. He served his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII in the Marine Corps. After the war he started his family in Charlotte and for the largest part of his career was a heating engineer with the Gas Heat Engineering Corp.

in Charlotte and Columbia, SC. After retirement, Frank divided his time between homes in Matthews and Lake Tillery, NC. He was an active member of Matthews United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Braswell Biggers; sons, J. Frank Biggers III and wife, Anne, of Walterboro, SC, and David T.

Biggers and wife, Brenda, of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Elizabeth C. Bernat and husband, Christopher, of Charleston, SC, Ashley Biggers of Columbia, SC, and Bridget B. Edith Boyce COLUMBIA Edith 1 Wilma Boyce, 91, formerly of Williamston, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, in Providence Hospital NE. Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Franklin and Lois Massey Boyce. She had been an active member of Williamston First Baptist Church, the Darcas Sunday School Class and the Coasters. Miss Boyce attended Lander College, graduated from Limestone College and did graduate work at the University of South Carolina. She had taught in Elgin, SC, Avery, and retired from T.L.

Hannah High School in Anderson. She was a member of the South Carolina and National Education Association. Surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Rogers of Charlotte, NC, Dr.

Warren W. Cox KINGSTREE Warren Wesley Cox, 69, died Saturday, September 30, 2006, in a Florence hospital. Mr. Cox was born July 7, 1937, in Williamsburg a son of the late Lorenzo Johnny and Nellie Godwin Cox. He served in the S.C.

National Guard and was retired from the Coleman Co. Mr. Cox was a member of the Kingstree Church of God. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lorenzo Cox and Ralph Cox. Dorothy Rich Lloyd Lockwood FLORENCE Dorothy Rich Lockwood died Sunday, October 1, 2006, in Heritage Home of Florence after an extended illness. Born in Marion, Mrs. Lockwood was a daughter of Luther Oran Rich and Mary Avant Rich. She graduated from Marion High School and the McLeod Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and an active member of St.

Paul United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Lockwood was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lockwood, and two brothers, Grady G. Rich and James Edward Rich. Surviving are a sister, Virginia Rich Freeman of Marion; and four nieces and two nephews.

Wyatt McElveen SUMTER James Wyatt McElveen, 93, husband of Dorothy Phyllis Taylor McElveen, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, in a local nursing facility. Born in Shiloah, S.C., he was a son of the late Frank McElveen and Sulie Chandler McElveen.

Mr. McElveen was a charter member of St. John's United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent for 26 years. He had currently been a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and the Christian Businessmen Association.

He was a former Mason, former member of the Sumter Civitan, and a former member of the Sumter Lion's Club. He was a retired salesman with Kimbrell's Furniture. "Tuffy" Millstead, died Saturday, September 30, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Millstead was born January 14, 1930, in Newberry, a daughter of the late Bennie R. and Sudie Fulmer Roton. She was a retired employee of Allied Chemical and was a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church and the Newberry County Shrinettes.

She is survived son, Larry A. Millstead of Newberry; two sisters, Ethel R. Coleman of Newberry and Polly R. Sanders of Baker, FL; and three grandchildren, Larry A. Millstead, his fiance, Treva Smith, and Daren C.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Waldrip and Dr.

Fred W. Andrea, III officiating. Mr. Justice was born in Great Falls September 13, 1943, son of the late John and Kate (Baker) Justice. Justice was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1970 and 1972, and elected Solicitor for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in 1978, and had served unopposed since that time.

He was a member of the S.C. National Guard from 1967 to 1992, and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Solicitor Justice was a graduate of Great Falls High School and the University of South Carolina and USC Law School. He has been a member and past president of the Solicitors' Association of South Carolina, Inc. which he joined in 1978.

He has served as President and Chairman of the Board of the National District Attorneys Association from which he received the President's Award, the highest award given by the NDAA. He was also Chairman of the Board of Regents of the National College of District Attorneys at the time of his death. Through the years, he was presented numerous awards for public service such as the Order Of The Palmetto, awarded to him by the former Governor James Hodges. Recently, the General Assembly by resolution requested that Exit 55 along Interstate Highway 77 be named "Solicitor John R. Justice Interchange." Surviving Mr.

Justice are his wife, Gracy Long Justice; three daughters, Dolly Justice Garfield and husband, Robby, of Columbia, SC, Ivy Justice of Columbia, SC, and Tess Justice of Chester and USC at Columbia, SC; one sister, Nancy Quarles of Greenville, SC. Kimmett Lott and Rev. Artie Bowling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Mrs. Zeigler was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Henry B. Thomas and Matilda Harvey Thomas.

She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was the widow of Jake Hunter Zeigler. Surviving Mrs. Zeigler are daughter, Mrs. Sidney (Frances) Livingston of North; son, Ronald Thomas Zeigler of Orangeburg; brother, H.B. Thomas of North; grandchildren, Cheryl Knight, Rhonda Livingston, Barney Zeigler and Margaret Zeigler; and three great-grandchildren.

Alma Rose Bowers Zurenda HAMPTON Mrs. Alma Rose Bow- ers Zurenda, 83, of Hampton, died Saturday afternoon in Bayview Nursing Center in Beaufort after an extended illness.

Mrs. Zurenda was born in Crocketville, October 31, 1922, a daughter of the late E.B. "Buck" Bowers and Emmie Thomas Bowers. She had retired as Director of Health Education and Family Planning with the Department of Health and Environmental Control, serving six Lowcountry Counties. She was a member of St.

Marys Catholic Church and the Catholic Womens Club. For many years, she was affectionately known as "Madam the fortune teller for many lowcountry school fundraising events. Surviving are two sons, F. Bernard "Bernie" Zurenda of Hampton, Wayne Anthony Zurenda of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Sarah Peyton Zurenda Kitchen and husband Ron, Charles Baring Farmer Zurenda and France-Olivia Zurenda. Mrs.

Zurenda was predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Bowers Brown and Elsie Bowers Freeman. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sandy Run Cemetery near Hampton, conducted by Father Carl Bauer, and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton, located at 300 Mulberry from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and Tuesday until the hour of services.
